Irish Driving Data is a free tracker of Category B driving test pass rates and estimated waiting times for RSA test centres in Ireland. It exists so learners, instructors, journalists, and developers can cite current figures without scraping HTML.

Data sources & coverage

Figures come from CSO PxStat on data.cso.ie and data.gov.ie, published on behalf of the Road Safety Authority (RSA). License: Creative Commons Attribution 4.0.

ROA30 — pass rates, tests delivered, and tests not conducted / abandoned by centre
ROA36 — estimated waiting time (weeks) to a driving test invite at month end

This site loads the full Category B monthly series from CSO (currently January 2021 through the latest published month). Pass rates and abandoned counts come from ROA30; waiting times from ROA36 (available from September 2021).

Comparing centres & periods

On this site you can:

Tracker — latest month for every centre: pass rate, wait, tests delivered, no-shows, and abandoned
Compare — put two or three centres side by side with ranks, 12-month change, and trend charts
Charts — explore one centre in depth with national ranking and history charts
Map — interactive Ireland map with centres coloured by pass rate

Centre pages show the full monthly history table and a pass-rate trend chart. Download the complete dataset as JSON (includes all months per centre).

What the numbers mean

Pass rate is the Category B pass percentage published for that centre in the CSO release. Where a centre has no published figure for the month, we show “Not published” — we do not invent values.

Waiting time is the CSO’s estimated weeks to a test invite at month end. It is not a live feed of MyRoadSafety appointment slots. Always confirm booking availability on the RSA / MyRoadSafety service.

Tests delivered is the count of Category B driving tests conducted that month (ROA30). No-shows are candidates who did not attend their booked test. Abandoned tests are those not conducted / abandoned before completion (ROA30).

Update cadence

CSO publishes driving-test statistics monthly. Re-run npm run data to fetch the latest CSO CSVs and rebuild the site.
